Naji Subhy Paul Irénée Hakim is renowned as one of the greatest organists of our time. Winner of seven first prizes at the Paris Conservatoire and of many international competitions, he was already a leading figure in the musical world when he was appointed to succeed Olivier Messiaen as organist of La Trinité, Paris, in 1993.

Fully exploiting the resources of the neoclassical Rieger organ of St Michael’s, this richly varied programme will juxtapose works by Bach, Clérambault and Messiaen with examples of Hakim’s own artistry as composer and improviser.
