Pipeworks begins the 2025 festival with a concert with a difference! 

Well known as an arranger, aided and abetted by Pipeworks Chair Harry Meehan, Stuart Nicholson will perform a block busting concert of your favourite movie themes, heard as never before in his own arrangements for organ solo and duet. Superman, Star Wars, Interstellar, Independence Day and many more feature in this unique concert!

​Outstanding young English organist Claudia Grinnell, recently appointed Director of Music at Bury St Edmunds Cathedral, will present a varied programme showcasing the recently rebuilt instrument in Sandford Parish Church.

CELEBRITY ORGAN RECITAL BY MARTIN BAKER

Venue: Whitefriar Street Church, 56 Aungier St, Dublin 2, D02 YF57

Time: 7:30pm

​Universally hailed as one of the leading organists of his generation, Martin Baker held various posts in London, latterly as Master of the Music in Westminster Cathedral. His programme in Whitefriars will showcase the many facets of the instrument and will include an improvisation, a skill for which he is especially renowned.

John Butt is one of the world’s leading performer-scholars: his ensemble The Dunedin Consort is feted as a leading early music ensemble, performing all over the world.  His programme on the 2018 Goetze and Gwynne instrument will explore various facets of the early organ repertoire.

​We are excited to welcome and co-present multiple award winning recitalist Anna Victoria Baltrusch to close this year’s festival, and we are also delighted to be returning to St Michael’s Church, partnering with the venerable recital series, Dún Laoghaire Organ Concerts. Anna’s programme will  feature masterpieces of the baroque including music by J S Bach, Scarlatti and Handel.
