​Mornington Singers, conductor Orla Flanagan and organist David Leigh will take listeners on a choral journey exploring our human existence in different spheres - earthly, spiritual, celestial, and alien. The choir will perform music by living European composers Eoghan Desmond, Arvo Pärt, Nana Forte and Judith Bingham alongside works by Elgar, Stanford, Parry and Vaughan Williams with texts contemplating our place in the world, from Newman's 'link in a chain' through Shakespeare's 'great globe' to Milton's 'Sphere-born harmonious sisters, Voice and Verse'.

​Widely hailed as one of the leading organists of his generation, Martin Baker's recital in Whitefriar Street Church promises to be a memorable event. Master of Music at Westminster Cathedral for many years, he now enjoys a solo career which takes him all over the world. His programme will mark the feast of Corpus Christi with movements from Messiaen’s last great work, Livre du Saint Sacrement, Mendelssohn’s first organ sonata, and an improvisation, an art in which he is internationally recognised.
